Rep. Bollin issues statement after Senate walks away from budget negotiations

State Rep. Ann Bollin today issued the following statement after the Senate adjourned for the day without an education budget deal:

“It’s frustrating and disappointing that the Senate adjourned and left town without finalizing a budget for our schools. The House was ready to dig in and get this done today, and we remain committed to approving a responsible K-12 budget as soon as possible to give our schools certainty. We’ve spent weeks negotiating in good faith with the governor’s office and the Senate, and we were hopeful about the progress being made. Unfortunately, the Senate stepped away before we could reach the finish line. Michigan families deserve a complete budget that supports our state’s top priorities like road repairs and excellent schools, and I’m still hopeful we can come together to get this done.”
